Server restart will be required

This process will require you to restart your server(s). Only continue with Part IV (the uninstallation of ESET NOD32 Antivirus or ESET Smart Security Business Edition) if you are able to restart your server at this time. Otherwise, bookmark this article and continue the upgrade process when it is suitable to do so.

I. Upload new license (.lic) files

Follow the instructions in the following ESET Knowledgebase article to upload your license file to the server: How do I update ESET Remote Administrator with a new license file? (if you have not upgraded or received your licenses for EFSW, contact your distributor or visit the ESET File Security FAQ for more information on upgrading).

II. Migrate configuration settings

To migrate configuration settings (for example, scheduled tasks, third-party application exclusions, etc.), see the following Knowledgebase article:

Continue to section III below for a typical upgrade to EFSW. EFSW includes automatic detection and exclusion of critical server files and all of the required exclusions will be automatically set based on installed software and server roles (on restart).
